One killed, one injured during suspected drug deal gone wrong

HOUSTON, TX - A man was shot and killed at an apartment complex in west Houston on Country Place just before 8 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found an adult male in a courtyard area who had been shot at least once. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police said narcotics were located next to him and suspect it was a drug deal gone bad.

Around the same time, a black car pulled up to a nearby walk-up emergency clinic and dropped off a second male who had been shot in the arm. That man was transported to the hospital in stable condition and is being detained as investigators determine his involvement.

Police said the second male initially told clinic staff he had been shot at a different location, but investigators do not believe that information is accurate. The investigation is ongoing.
