Woman killed after pickup runs red light at Clay Road and West Sam Houston Parkway intersection



HOUSTON, TX – A woman was killed in a crash at the intersection of Clay Road and the West Sam Houston Parkway feeder.

Police say a pickup truck ran a red light and struck the woman’s small sedan, pushing it a long distance through the intersection and onto a curb.

The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A toddler who was properly restrained in the back seat was transported to a hospital and is not believed to be injured.

Police say the pickup driver attempted to leave the scene but was located by patrol officers about 100 yards away. He is expected to be charged with intoxication manslaughter.

The investigation is ongoing.
